Thanks for playing and future updates:

Hey, mikeb10 here, I just wanted to say thanks for playing the demo and talk about what I'm working on next for Dormant Utility Service Technician.

As I said in the other devlogs, this demo is not attached to the main game - it is more like a prequel.  The full version will also include a top down overworld with puzzles and exploration - in addition to entrances that take you into the type of platforming you saw in the demo.  I like the idea of Metroidvania but with both the normal side-scrolling platforming combined with top down, Zelda-style areas - being able to use both methods might offer some interesting possibilities for me.   In the top-down parts, you get to use a mech to traverse the desolate and possibly dangerous alien worlds.  You will also use your ship (from the demo) to get around to different planets, each with their own challenges and objectives.

I've been working on it for over a year and have a good amount done already, but it's my first game and I have a lot to learn.  I took a couple months off to make that demo, mostly on the hunt for feedback and comments.  For anyone who has reached out already, or done a stream/youtube play-through - THANK YOU, I have learned a ton already and the footage helped me solve bugs and make decisions that I immediately updated into the demo and the full game.  This is a solo developer, so the feedback is even more crucial - double that because I'm just a newbie to gamedev.

Anyway, I just wanted to show some gratitude for trying the demo and share some stuff about the main game.  The 007 update should be the final version of this demo - UNLESS I hear more feedback and find bugs or anything.  Please let me know if I need to fix anything, I am happy to shift my work back over to this to ensure that it runs as intended.  It's a totally DIY project - I am beholden to no publisher, no boss, no expectations - other than to make sure I finish the game - for myself.  And for anyone that wants to follow along, I have a twitter page -  https://twitter.com/DormantUtility  - which I post about once/week.  There's already a lot of examples/gifs from the main version there, so check it out if you're interested in seeing more.  Hope you have a pleasant day.

- mike
